8m skip bin hire

An 8m general waste skip bin from Shelby Skips costs $860 across Brisbane's northside, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast, GST included (prices last checked 04/10/2026). Green waste is $705, light construction $990, and mixed and heavy $1,210. The price includes a week's hire, delivery and pick-up, and filling it to its weight limit. An 8m is the largest skip bin we hire. It holds 8 cubic metres, about 32 wheelie bins or 8 box trailer loads, and is 4m long, 1.5m wide and 1.5m high.

What's an 8m good for?

A big garden or acreage clean-up, or a full house clear-out. It also suits a shed and garden that have been filling up for years. Other jobs are in our size guide. Builders needing more than 8m can book a 12m to 30m hook bin by phone.

What heavy waste can go in an 8m?

Book it as mixed and heavy and it takes bricks, tiles and hardwood. It can't take soil, concrete or besser blocks, because the truck isn't allowed to carry a full 8m of them. For those, book a 6m instead, even though it holds less.

How heavy can it be?

1,600kg of general or green waste, which is a third more room than the 6m for only 400kg more weight. Mixed and heavy takes 6,000kg, the same as the 6m. Light construction takes 2,000kg.

Will it fit?

It's 200mm taller than the 6m, so check carport roofs, gutters, branches and any gate the truck has to pass. There's no drop-down door on the 8m.

What does an extra day cost?

An extra day on an 8m is $55, GST included.
