How big can branches and logs be?
Thick and long is fine. The limit is the rim: cut long branches down so nothing sits above it.
Where do turf and garden soil go?
In a clean fill bin. Soil dug out of a garden bed can have some roots through it.
Here's what counts as clean fill.
Where does timber go?
Hardwood, like an old deck or fence, only goes in a mixed and heavy bin. For other timber, ring us and we'll tell you which bin.
Can garden waste go in a general waste bin?
Yes, as long as the bin stays under its weight limit. If it's only garden waste, green waste costs less in every size.
When does a green waste bin get too heavy?
Green waste goes by weight as well as space. A 2m takes 400kg, a 3m 600kg, a 4m 800kg, a 6m 1,200kg and an 8m 1,600kg. Each 100kg over is $16.50, GST included.
Which size for a garden clean-out?
Garden clean-outs are one of the jobs people most often book too small. A big garden or acreage clean-up needs the 8m. Our size guide goes by the job.
