Shelby Skips hires out residential skip bins for house clear-outs across Brisbane's northside, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast. A 4m general waste bin is $470 and a 6m is $670, GST included (prices last checked 28/09/2026). Each price is for a week, with delivery, pick-up and a load up to the bin's weight limit.

Which size do homes need?
More than half the bins we take to homes are a 4m or a 6m. Both are 1.5m wide.
6m skip bin
3.6m long and 1.3m high, about 24 wheelie bins.
This is the one for a whole house or a deceased estate.
With a drop-down door, it's $720 in general waste.

General waste, green waste or mixed and heavy?
Household rubbish, old furniture and packaging go in general waste. Garden clippings go in green waste, which costs less than general waste in every size. A solid garden clean-up fits a 3m green waste bin, for $350.
Any renovation goes in mixed and heavy, never general waste. If soil, concrete or bricks are mixed through your rubbish, that's mixed and heavy too.
A bag of rubbish in a green waste bin means it's no longer green waste.
Where does the bin go at a house?
It goes on your own property, like your driveway or yard, so you don't need a council permit. The driver needs clear space around the spot to set the bin down. Keep it clear of low branches and power lines too, because the truck needs headroom. If there's soft ground, a steep slope or a car to move, tell us before the day.

What can't go in from a house clean-out?
Paint, gas bottles, batteries, tyres, chemicals and asbestos can't go in any of our bins. Empty the fridge first, because food in a bin costs $200 to clean out. A mattress can go in general waste or mixed and heavy for $70, if you tell us before delivery.

How long do I keep the bin?
From delivery day to the same day the next week. Need it longer? Ring us before the pick-up date. Each extra day is $33 on a 3m or 4m and $55 on a 6m or 8m, GST included.
When do I pay?
Before or at delivery, by card, bank transfer or cash.
Is there a charge for distance?
No. It's the same price anywhere in our area.
