At Shelby Skips, household and garden rubbish is sized by space, from a 2m up to an 8m. Soil, concrete, bricks and tiles go by weight, and the 6m is the biggest bin we do for them. A week's hire costs $300 to $910, GST included (prices last checked 24/09/2026). Delivery, pick-up and a bin filled to its weight limit are all in that price. We deliver across Brisbane's northside, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.
Stripping out one bathroom fits a 2m. Book it as mixed and heavy, because that's the only type that takes ceramic tiles. A 2m mixed and heavy bin is $445. For the whole renovation, go up to a 4m.
A kitchen renovation takes a 4m. It's general waste at $470, or mixed and heavy at $660 if floor tiles or a tiled splashback come up. Doing the kitchen, a bathroom and the floors at once needs a 6m.
A garage clear-out fits a 4m general waste bin. A shed and garden that have been filling up for years suit an 8m, $860 in general waste. That load is bulky and light, and the 8m takes 1,600kg of it. Set old paint, gas bottles and batteries aside before you start, because none of our bins take them.
A garden tidy-up fits a 2m green waste bin for $300, and a solid clean-up a 3m for $350. A big garden or acreage clean-up needs the 8m, at $705. Soil from a dug-out garden bed, roots and all, isn't green waste or clean fill. Book it as mixed and heavy.
Clearing one room fits a 2m, and one or two rooms a 3m. What's left after a house move fits a 4m. A whole house or a deceased estate takes a 6m, at $670 in general waste. A bigger house clear-out takes an 8m, which holds a third more. Mattresses go in for $70 each, booked before delivery.
The heavy waste types all have the same weight limits. A 2m takes 2,000kg, a 3m 3,000kg, a 4m 4,000kg and a 6m 6,000kg. Clean fill costs the same as concrete and brick up to a 4m: $320, $370 and $420. In a 6m, clean fill is $720 and concrete and brick $620.

Knocking down a brick wall or breaking up an old slab? If it's only concrete and bricks, book concrete and brick. Once timber or rubbish is mixed through it, the load is mixed and heavy. Size it by weight, like a load of soil. We aren't licensed to carry asbestos, so it can't go in the bin.
A hardwood deck or fence can only go in mixed and heavy. Cut long boards down so nothing sits above the rim. Re-roofing? Tell us what the old roof is made of before you book.
Measure your pile of rubbish in metres, then multiply the length by the width by the height. That gives cubic metres, and our bins are sized the same way. A pile 2m long, 1.5m wide and 1m high is 3 cubic metres, so it fits a 3m. Each cubic metre is about four wheelie bins or one box trailer load.
Go up one. On general waste, a 3m is $50 more than a 2m, but a second 2m is another $310.
